Prayer Mothers Ministry

Goal

To establish a relationship between a young girl and a Christian woman in the church, that the child may learn and develop from that relationship

Prayer     

Prayer is the most important component of the program. Mothers need to teach the girls by both word and deed.

Mother

Some girls may not have a Christian mother as a role model. Prayer Mothers help to point girls to God and to fill this spiritual need. Where girls do have Christian mothers, the Prayer Mother becomes a special adult friend, just as much required by the girls and their mothers.

Cost

The Prayer Mother role is not an expensive one, only requiring time and attention.

The Family

It is essential that there is good communication between the Prayer Mother and the family. Prayer Mothers should try to plan activities which, whenever possible, include the girl and members of her family.

Role of the Prayer Mother

Ø Teach bible lessons, encourage bible study.

Ø Visit Club Meetings.

Ø Keep in monthly contact with parent (s).

Ø Assist her to identify talents and to use them for God.

Ø Be a Christian example.

Ø Pray for her daily.

Ø Call to check when she is sick or absent from church.

Ø Remember her birthday and special occasions.

Ø Always greet her with a smile.
